The Rockdale County Board of Education (BOE) celebrated the first work session of 2017 with the swearing in of two newly elected board members and three re-elected board members.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate and witness the ceremonies, conducted by Rockdale County Superior Court Judge David Irwin.
New members Pam Brown and Heather Duncan were welcomed by returning incumbents Wales Barksdale, Tony Dowdy, and Mandy North. BOE Chairman Jim McBrayer and Katrina Young, whose current terms began in 2015, also welcomed their colleagues.
