Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Chi Tau Omega Chapter Scholarship
Awarded to one student from each high school in Rockdale County and Newton County recognizing outstanding high school seniors that have been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university. Scholarship also awarded in honor of the chapter’s first president, the late Melanie Raiford Griggs. The awards are given to students that have high scholastic achievement, proven leadership, and have actively participated in community service. Scholarships awarded in Spring. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Sigma Eta Lambda Chapter Scholarship
$1,000 awarded to the first place winner; $250 to second place; $100 to third place. Seniors attending high school in the metro Atlanta area and on the path to graduating are eligible to participate. Essay (500-1,000 words) required on the following topic: "Does it really matter having a measure of integrity and professionalism when the political landscape seems to show examples where neither characteristic is present, even at the highest levels of government?". Each essay will be graded using the following criteria: Student understanding of the question; Depth and detail (evidence of the student provide a definition and at least one example to support their position); Length of essay (minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words); Argument/position is convincing and easy to follow and understand. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Rho Sigma Lambda Chapter, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest Scholarship
$1,000 awarded to the first place winner of the Oratorical Contest, $750 for second place, $500 for third place; juniors and seniors attending an accredited high school in Rockdale, Butts, Clayton, Henry, Newton, or Spalding County are eligible to participate; application due December. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Rho Sigma Lambda Chapter, Randall D. Ponder Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to one male student that shows community involvement, proven leadership, and community involvement. Seniors attending an accredited high school in Rockdale, Butts, Clayton, Newton, or Spalding County are eligible to participate. Antoine Chapman Legacy Scholarship
$1,000 awarded to a high school senior at a Rockdale County School. Applicants must have been accepted into a 2 or 4-year college or university, compose a 500 word essay detailing a significant life changing event that took place in high school and explain how you effectively managed to overcome it. Carl Van Williams Service Scholarship
$4,000 to a graduating high school senior in Rockdale County with demonstrated high level of community involvement, two letters of recommendation from high school faculty or place of volunteer service, community service details, to include location and dates and a 200-500 word essay. The scholarship was created by Conyers Best Laundry and the family of Coach Carl Van Williams (1939-2019) of South Carolina in honor of the high level of community involvement displayed by Mr. Williams throughout his life.


Collins Family Scholarship
$3,000 each to three qualifying seniors/graduates of Rockdale County Public Schools who are of Hispanic/Latinx descent, regardless of citizenship status. First preference will be given to first generation college students. To apply, a student must be of Hispanic/Latinx descent, be a 2024 graduate in a Rockdale County public school, be accepted to a college or technical school for the 2024-25 school year and complete an application and 500-word essay. Community CARES Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
$1000 - $2000 Scholarship awarded to a senior at one of the following schools in Rockdale County, Heritage High School, Rockdale County High School, or Salem High School or a senior in the following Newton County schools, Alcovy High School, Eastside High School, or Newton High School. Applicants must have applied or have been accepted into an accredited 4-year college or university who demonstrate, proven leadership, have actively participated in community service, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Application includes a typed essay (see essay topic and criteria listed in application under ATTACHMENTS). Application due May 13, 2024 (must be postmarked by May 13, 2024). Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Each year, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta provides hundreds of scholarships to students through a variety of scholarship funds. To be eligible, applicants need to fulfill the following criteria: Must be a high school senior who is the natural, adopted, or dependent child of an individual who has been an active, full-time Cox employee for at least the last three consecutive years (as of January 26, 2024), must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited college, university, or technical school, must have a 2.50 or higher grade point average and must plan to be enrolled full-time and maintain that enrollment status. For United States applicants, your Cox-employed parent must be a contributor included on your FAFSA Submission Summary. No other family members can be Kennedy Scholars for the current academic year, and previous recipients are renewed if they continue to meet the scholarship's criteria and submit a renewal application each semester. Covington/Conyers Choral Guild Joni B. Jones Memorial Scholarship
The Covington/Conyers Choral Guild is pleased to offer two scholarship programs for 2023 graduates of Newton and Rockdale County public schools, private schools, and homeschools - the Choral Guild Vocal Music Scholarship and the Joni Jones Memorial Scholarship. Both scholarship programs award up to $1,000 based on the student’s academic and artistic achievement, teacher recommendation, and financial need. The Choral Guild Vocal Music Scholarship is offered to students who plan to pursue a voice-related music degree. A live audition and interview are needed to apply for the Choral Guild Vocal Music Scholarship. Application deadline is April 8, 2024. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter Scholarship
Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. scholarship application deadline is January 31, 2023. Access the application at www.smlacdst.org/scholarship. Earthonaut Scholarship
$300 awarded to the first place winner and $250 awarded to the second place winner. High school seniors enrolled or plan to enroll in a college or university or freshman, or currently attending a college or university are eligible to participate. Choose a Country, an Island, or an Ocean, do the research on your choice, include the location and some points of interest. Tell us about your research results in writing. EARTHONAUT Scholarship Funds are offered once a year.  Application deadline will be the 31st of March, funds will be awarded the 30th of May. Grady Gives Scholarship
$1000 to high school students in need to assist with college expenses. Applicants must submit/have: SAT score, 2.85 GPA or higher, recommendation letter, motivation letter, and answering the following questions "Are you familiar with the Grady Gives community work? If so, what has impacted you the most?", "Are you familiar with Grady's story and life? What do you find inspiring between his football career and his social work?" and "How do you impact the lives around you?" Application is open May 1-26, 2023. Deadline May 26, 2023. Harriett's Daughters Inc. 2024 ScholarGift Program
Scholarship available to young women in their senior year of high school, who have lost their mother to cancer or whose mother has an end-stage cancer diagnosis and aspire to pursue higher education in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.  Eligibility requirements, submit all the additional materials required, must be a greater Atlanta resident (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, Rockdale Counties, and the city of Atlanta), minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.00 scale, two letters of recommendation (both letters must be written on official letterhead and signed), submit an essay/personal statement, submit a one-minute video introduction of yourself, official academic transcript and attend a one-day college preparatory workshop. Horace J. Johnson Jr. Beyond the Bar Scholarship
$1,000 to graduating high school seniors from Rockdale, Newton, and Walton counties; application deadline March 1st. This scholarship is provided by the Beyond the Bar Scholarship Foundation, Inc. which is a collaborative effort between New Rock Legal Society, Newton County Bar Association, Rockdale County Bar Association and Walton County Bar Association to provide scholarships for the benefit of graduating high school seniors that will further their education in an accredited college, university or technical school. The foundation’s scholarship is named in honor of the Honorable Horace J. Johnson, Jr who served as a Superior Court Judge in the Alcovy Circuit from 2002 until his death in 2020.


JJG STEAM Scholarship
Dr. Joy Jackson-Guilford developed the JJG STEaM Scholarship to assist deserving area youth who plan to major in science, technology, engineering, arts and/or math with the financial burden of a post-secondary education. Because of her community engagement, the students must actively support the community in which they live. Applicant must be a resident of Rockdale/Newton County and attend one of the three County High Schools. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and applicant must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Official transcript is required. The DEADLINE for scholarship applications is Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:59 PM. Jonathan David Childs Memorial Scholarship
$500 awarded to a senior Salem High football athlete who has been accepted to college and meets the following criteria: Exhibits a passion for football as a player and displays good sportsmanship, minimum 2.5 GPA, displays humility, honesty and integrity, service oriented, demonstrates financial need. Awarded at Salem High's Awards Program; in honor of Coach Jonathan D. Childs who coached and mentored football athletes at Salem High School, Holy Spirit Preparatory School and played football for Georgia State University’s first football team; he was 27 at the time of his passing; Coach Childs possessed a tremendous knowledge of football and the ability to transfer some of that knowledge to his players, and instilled positive character traits and good sportsmanship in his players. Jordan D. Savage Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 to a senior graduating from a Rockdale County Public Schools high school and admitted to a college or technical school for the upcoming school year; must have participated in sports and/or JROTC; minimum 2.5 GPA, exhibit a passion for sports, display good sportsmanship, humility, honesty, integrity, and community service participation; essay required about a challenge or obstacle faced and overcome during your high school years; in honor of Jordan D. Savage, Rockdale County High School Class of 2014; despite his many medical challenges, Jordan graduated from RCHS; he decided to attend Oglethorpe University and was scheduled to start fall 2014; he passed away in summer 2014 at age 19 due to complications from Lupus. Throughout his courageous battle with Lupus, Jordan’s passion for sports never diminished. Jordan played baseball for RCHS, and he assisted as a team manager for RCHS girls’ soccer. Lambda Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter, Sigma Gamma Rho Scholarship 
$1,000 scholarship. One scholarship awarded to a senior attending a high school served by the Lambda Sigma Sigma Chapter. Eligibility requirements, demonstrate interest in social justice, community development and volunteerism, this will be demonstrated through your resume or in your essay, minimum GPA of 3.0, and attend a high school in Henry, Rockdale or Fayette County Schools. Application deadline is March 15, 2024, winners will be announced April 15, 2024. Mary Lee Bellinger Cuthpert Pinckney Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 for a Rockdale County resident with a GPA of 3.0 or above; or a member of the United House of Prayer for All People church in Atlanta; or a graduating senior at Alfred E. Beach High School with a 3.0 or above GPA. The Mary Lee Bellinger Cuthpert Pinckney Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 to honor Ms. Bellinger Cuthpert Pinckney. Requirements include resume and short essay which includes extracurricular school activities, community service, or United House of Prayer for All People positions held, an acceptance letter to a 4-year college/university, and transcript. Natural Resources Conservation Workshop
More than $17,000 in college scholarships will be awarded at the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop, a five-day camp/workshop held in June at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. Ten RCPS students in rising grades 10-12 will be selected to attend the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop free of cost, sponsored by the Conyers and Rockdale Rotary Clubs. The workshop focuses on the value, protection, and conservation of Georgia's wildlife, forestry, soil, and water resources. Sponsored by the Conyers and Rockdale County Rotary Clubs and the Georgia Association of Conservation Districts, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Society, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  Application at www.abac.edu/nrcw . NCNW Rockdale-Newton Section Scholarship
Up to $500; for graduating high school seniors in Rockdale County Public Schools or Newton County School System with GPA between 2.0-2.99 attending a college, university, technical or trade school as s full-time student in the coming academic year. New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship
$1000 - $5000 scholarships, variable amount; for members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church who have completed a New Members class; for high school graduates or GED/HS Equivalency certified students applying to a post-secondary college, university or technical program for the first time. Newton-Rockdale Optimist Club
$2,500 first place, $1,500 second place, $1,000 third place scholarship awarded. Contestants must not have yet graduated from high school yet or its equivalent and be up to 18 years old as of Dec. 31. The 700-800 word essay is due in January. Piedmont Rockdale Auxiliary
$1,000 scholarship from the Elizabeth Wilmot Bull Memorial Scholarship Fund, awarded by the Council on Auxiliaries/Volunteers of the Georgia Hospital Association. For more information, contact the Piedmont Rockdale hospital Auxiliary at 770-918-3007.


RCPS Foundation Scholarship 
$1,000 scholarship to a qualifying senior at each of the following schools: Heritage High School, Rockdale County High School, Rockdale Magnet School, and Salem High School, awarded by the RCPS Foundation. Applicants must demonstrate their commitment to achievement and intend to continue their education at a college/university or technical school upon high school graduation. To apply, a student must be on target to graduate in May 2024, have been admitted to a college or technical school for the 2024-2025 school year, have not received a full-tuition scholarship, and complete an application, including the video essay portion. Rockdale Coalition for Children and Families John K. Morgan Scholarship
$4,000 (renewable for up to 3 years) to a student living in Rockdale who has demonstrated outstanding community service in Rockdale County and plans to continue that level of commitment while pursuing post-secondary education. Application includes narrative describing the community service, two letters of recommendation, official high school transcript or GED certificate or record of progress towards a GED certificate. If selected for the scholarship, recipient must commit to quarterly report of community service and five hours a month of community service to maintain the scholarship. Application due January 31st. Rockdale NAACP Freedom Fund Scholarship
$1,000 to one senior at each of the three RCPS high schools; funds raised through the annual Freedom Fund banquet; scholarships awarded in June. For an application and more information, contact [email protected].


Rockdale PTA Council Scholarship
Scholarship available to a graduating senior of a Rockdale County high school. Parent/guardian and student is a current member of PTA/PTSA. The PTA/PTSA must be in good standing (i.e., dues paid, approved bylaws on file); Student will attend a college, university, post-secondary institution or trade/vocational school during the upcoming school year, has a satisfactory scholastic record; Grade point 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, has not received a full scholarship(s) and/or does not have a financial need. Rockdale Retired Educators Association Henry Gibbs Scholarship
Variable amount; for a graduate of a RCPS high school who has completed at least one year of college and is majoring in education. Applications are available in February from RREA scholarship committee. Applications must be received by March 31. Nominees must provide a transcript of their college grades and demonstrate a definite financial need. Nominations may be made by Rockdale County residents and must be endorsed by a high school counselor. Students may apply for, and be awarded, the scholarship for three years by submitting a new application each year. Rockdale Rotary Four Way Test Scholarship
Variable amount; for a senior from Salem High School; essay contest on the Four Way Test, or the guiding principles that Rotary members recite at every meeting - "Of the things we think, say or do - is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, will it be beneficial to all concerned?" Snapping Shoals EMC Lineman's School Scholarships
$3,500 awarded to two high school seniors in good standing, hold a GED or to a high school graduate. Applicant must live in a household served by Snapping Shoals EMC and provide proof of residency and have a current driver’s license and clean driving record. A complete application must be submitted before the deadline of March 29, 2024. Application must include, acceptance letter, proof of enrollment or detailed plan for enrollment to lineman school of choice, a 250-500 word essay answering the question “Why do you want to be a Lineman?”, a copy of high school diploma, GED equivalent or transcript for high school student, and two letters of recommendation (can be from teacher, employer, personal acquaintance, etc.) Family members of Snapping Shoals EMC employees are not eligible to apply. Those relationships include spouse, parent (including step and in-law), siblings, children, grandparents, stepchildren, guardianship and Board member. The scholarship will be paid directly to the applicant’s chosen lineman school, funds may be used for any Lineman School program in Georgia. Snapping Shoals EMC J.E. Robinson Memorial Scholarships
$2,500 each awarded to 14 high school seniors living in homes or attending schools served by Snapping Shoals EMC. Application requires essay, test scores, transcript, three recommendations. Snapping Shoals EMC All-Around Student Scholarships
$2,500 each awarded to six high school seniors whose homes or high schools are served by Snapping Shoals EMC. These scholarships recognize those students who go above and beyond in their extracurricular activities while still maintaining high academic standards. Application requires essay, test scores, transcript, three recommendations. Deadline is February 23, 2024. Snapping Shoals EMC Washington Youth Tour Scholarships
$500 scholarship and all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to three sophomores or juniors whose homes or high schools are served by SSEMC. Springfield Baptist Church Almond James Turner Scholarship
$2,500 awarded to graduating high school seniors in Rockdale and Newton counties; reoccurring scholarship up to 5 years. Applicants do not need to be a member of Springfield Baptist Church to apply; open to the community. Applicants must be accepted and enrolled as a full-time student at a two-year or four-year post-secondary institution. $1,000 awarded to a graduating high school senior. Must be a member of Springfield Baptist Church for at least 6 months. Applicants must be accepted and enrolled as a full-time student at a two-year or four-year post-secondary institution. Superintendent's Scholarship
$1,000 to one senior at a RCPS high school; sponsored by the RCPS Foundation. To apply, a student must be a 2025 graduate-to-be in a Rockdale County public school, have been admitted to a college or technical school for the 2025-26 school year, not have received over $2500 in scholarships from other sources, and complete an application, including the essay portion. Three judges read and score the essays. The applicant with the highest cumulative score from each school is chosen to receive this scholarship. The Greene McCollum Dobbs Memorial Scholarship 
$5,000 to one graduating senior from the Rockdale County Public School System each year. This student can be self-nominated or nominated by a member of the school’s faculty or staff (principal, teacher, counselor, etc. for odds they’ve overcome, potential they show or hardships they’ve endured. Applicant must be in good standing with plans to attend an accredited college or university, must be U.S. citizens or legal resident, submit completed application, and submit current official high school transcripts. Application deadline is March 25, 2023. AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter No. 1 Educational Fund, Inc., Scholarship
Scholarship awards range from $1000-$3000 to eligible applicants. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, students residing in the greater metro Atlanta area are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible, students residing anywhere in the state of Georgia are eligible to apply for the graduate Nursing Scholarship. There are three scholarships available to students residing anywhere within the geographical area of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta who will be attending Holy Cross School of Theology. Applications for the Johnny N. Economy Scholarship are open to all applicants with no residency restrictions. Regardless of residency, the application for this scholarship requires the submission of an additional essay on Hellenism. AFSA Scholarship Program
Up to $1,000 for five high school seniors each. Scholarship funds are payable to the winner’s college/university or certified trade school in the United States; the winner must enroll in classes beginning no later than the Fall 2024 session. Requirements: open to high school seniors who are citizens or aliens legally residing in the USA, winner selection is NOT based on financial need, GPA, or demographic criteria, home-schooled students may apply as long as the course of study is equivalent to that of a senior in high school and relatives of AFSA staff or NATIONAL board members may not enter. Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund
Up to $2,500 one-year awards to $20,000 multi-year awards open to AANHPI undergraduate students attending any U.S. accredited university or college. APIA Scholars has a special focus on supporting AANHPI students who live at or below the poverty line; are in the first generation of their family to attend college; are representative of the APIA community’s diversity, (geographically and ethnically}, especially those ethnicities that have been underrepresented on college campuses due to limited access and opportunity. Strong applicants would also have an emphasis on community service and leadership. Bryan Cameron Education Foundation Scholarship
Full-tuition scholarship; The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition, impact-driven undergraduate scholarship awarded annually to 10-15 exceptional high school students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, and academics. Buzzell, Welsh & Hill College Scholarship Program
$2,500 awarded to one student who can create a new driver education program or process that could work in your own town. Use text, video, graphics and other media to outline your curriculum, demonstrating how it’s better than the current approach. Brevity and clarity are best. Your entry should take the judges only about 3 minutes to review. Applicants must currently attend or plan to attend an accredited United States college or university during the fall 2021 semester. Charles Shelton Foundation Annual Scholarship
Scholarship available for a Black African-American graduating high school senior, current college student or returning college student, student must be interested in Veterinary Sciences. Congressional Black Caucus Foundation
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is awarding $1,500 to the first-place winner, $1,000  to the second-place winner and $750 to the third-place winner. Winners and their families are also invited to Washington, D.C. in September to accept their award and attend a panel discussion on the topic during the CBCF annual Legislative Conference. Application requires a 750 word and no more than 1000 word essay and it is open to high school juniors and seniors (grades 11 and 12) at time of submission. Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia Scholarship
$1,000 each awarded to 4 high school seniors. This scholarship is open to any Georgia high school senior (or a GED equivalency dated December 31, 2019 to May 31, 2020) who is a United States and Georgia citizen graduating by the spring of 2020. Applicant must be seeking an undergraduate degree, and have been accepted into an accredited four-year, junior college or technical college. Dell Scholarship
Did you or do you participate in AVID? Here is a scholarship specifically for you. Applicant must demonstrate a need for financial assistance, be eligible to receive a federal Pell Grant in first year of college, plan to enroll full time at an accredited higher education institution in the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in the fall directly following high school graduation and earn a minimum of a 2.4 GPA. Delta Community Scholarships
$5,000 each awarded to five high schools seniors. Applicant must be a Delta Community member and primary account holder in good standing at the time of application. The application deadline is March 1.  Applicant must be enrolled to attend an accredited college or university during the fall of the following year as a full-time student pursuing a first undergraduate degree and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Applicant must submit a copy of their current transcript, a copy of their letter of acceptance from an accredited college or university and a typed double-spaced essay of at least 300 words (not more than 500 words). Delta Community Credit Union HBCU Scholarship
Twice a year, scholarships for $5,000 will be awarded to HBCU students. Three scholarships will be awarded in May 2024, and two scholarships will be awarded in November 2024. Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards
Every year, the Helen Diller Family Foundation awards up to 15 Jewish teens with $36,000 each for their leadership efforts to change the world. From the environment to social justice to access to education and beyond, these young people are tackling big challenges in their communities and having tremendous impact. Requirements: must be 13-19 years old (on January 5, 2024), identify as Jewish, a resident of the United States, volunteering without any compensation and currently serving in a leadership role on one project or initiative that embodies the values of tikkun olam — repairing the world. Disabled Scholar Award
The Disabled Scholar Award is just a part of their efforts to be good members of the community and to give back. With the Disabled Scholar Award, this Law Firm hopes to both raise awareness about the challenges disabled young people face while also helping one special young person to achieve his/her goals and dreams. End Cyberbullying Scholarship Award
In an effort to get students committed to the cause of deleting cyberbullying, we are offering the $1,000 Delete Cyberbullying Scholarship Award for high school and college students to help cover educational expenses. Ford Auto Tech Scholarship

FOSSI Scholarship 
Up to $40,000 award to a high school student looking to make the world or your community a better place, planning to attend an HBCU and has an interest Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The FOSSI scholarship can be used for tuition and university-provided room and board.  A student may accept additional scholarships, but they cannot exceed the total cost of their education. Children of employees of founding partners and sponsoring organizations may apply for the FOSSI scholarship, excluding children of executive-level employees. Requirements: be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States, complete or have completed high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted), be entering their freshman year of college, pursue studies in a pertinent chemical and engineering industry STEM field, attend an HBCU for the entirety of their college education, have interest in pursuing a career in chemical manufacturing, engineering, environmental health and sustainability or other related chemical-industry fields and demonstrate financial need. The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is a merit-based program that helps students fulfill their dreams of a higher education. Gene Higginbotham Memorial Scholarship
The Gene Higginbotham Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2016 honoring Gene Higginbotham, who dedicated 50 years to the pest management industry and Northeast Georgia communities. Variable scholarship amounts will be awarded to applicants who reside in an American Pest Control service location, service areas can be found at www.ampest.com. Applicant must have been accepted to an accredited college or university, must have at least a 3.0 high school cumulative grade point average (equivalent to a B average) and a 900 combined SAT score and/or ACT score of 17. Georgia Farm Bureau
Total $14,250 in scholarships to 10 high school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree in agriculture, family and consumer sciences or a related field. The top three students will each receive a scholarship of $3,000. The remaining seven students will each receive a $750 scholarship. Students are eligible to submit an application if they, a parent or a legal guardian are a member of Georgia Farm Bureau. Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. McDonald’s Positively Golden Scholarship
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and McDonald’s are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Harriet Fitzgerald Scholarship in the amount of $10,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year will be awarded to a woman who will begin attending an undergraduate women’s college in the United States or Canada in the Fall 2023 term. Eligibility requirements, must be a graduating senior enrolled in High School, plan to attend an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in the Fall of 2024, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale) and submit an essay on "The Importance of HBCU's in the 21st Century" 500 word minimum. The Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program
Up to $2,500 are awarded to students seeking higher education. Applicants do not need to be members of Mensa. They must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university in the academic year after application. They must write an essay explaining career, academic or vocational goals. Emphasis in judging will be placed on a goal statement that includes specific information on experience or steps taken toward the goal, persuasiveness (e.g., how your past achievements/experiences and your future planning increase the probability of reaching your goal), why you think that you will succeed, and grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Deadline is January 15, 2024. The Science Ambassador Scholarship
Full-tuition STEM scholarship for female and non-binary students, this scholarship is open to women seeking an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, technology, or math. Must be a high school senior or an undergraduate college student to apply. There is no citizenship requirement, but students must be or planning to attend a college in the United States. Students must submit a video (3-minutes or less) about any STEM topic they are passionate about, not necessarily their field of study. Applications close December 13th, 2023 at 11:59PM CST. The Warren Law Firm Survivor Scholarship
Up to $1000 award to a student currently enrolled in or about to attend an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program within the United States. This scholarship is an opportunity for students to share their stories of a difficult time in their life and how they have grown from it, and how they hope to use their past experiences to make a difference for others in the future. Applicants are asked to share a story about how they, or someone close to them, were injured, how it affected their life, and how they overcame this obstacle. Requirements: must have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher, a resume with current contact information, a current academic transcript (clearly showing your Cumulative GPA), if not currently enrolled in a college or university, the applicant must provide proof of acceptance into their planned school for the upcoming academic semester and a 750-1,000 word essay describing a difficult situation in your life that you’ve grown from and how you hope to use your past experiences to make a difference in the lives of others. At the end of your essay, please include a short explanation of how, if chosen, you will use the scholarship funds to pursue your educational goals. Deadline is December 31, 2023. USDA 1890 Scholars Program Scholarship
Up to 4 years full-tuition. The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program is available to high school seniors entering their freshman year of college, and rising college sophomores and juniors accepted to or attending one of the 1890 Land-Grant Universities (Alabama A&M University, North Carolina A&T State University, Alcorn State University, Prairie View A&M University, Central State University (Ohio), South Carolina State University, Delaware State University, Southern University (Louisiana), Florida A&M University, Tennessee State University, Fort Valley State University (Georgia), Tuskegee University, Kentucky State University, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Langston University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Lincoln University (Missouri), Virginia State University, West Virginia State University) in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food sciences, natural resource sciences, or related academic discipline(s). General requirements include U.S. citizenship, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, a score of 1080 or more on the SAT or 21 or more on the ACT. Walter Harrison Scholarship
$1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduate students attending any technical school or two- or four-year accredited college or university in Georgia. To apply for the Walter Harrison Scholarship through Snapping Shoals, you must reside in the household of, or be, a Snapping Shoals EMC consumer-member (electric customer) or employee. Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship
One $10,000 scholarship and two $5,000 scholarships awarded to graduating U.S. high school seniors who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Applicants will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. VFW Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy contest
The VFW Post 5290 Voice of Democracy speech contest for high schoolers and Patriot’s Pen essay contest for middle schoolers gives students a shot at monetary prizes on the state and national level; a $30,000 scholarship goes to the national VOD winner. VOD competitors must write and record a three to five minute essay on a theme on an audio cassette tape or audio CD.  PP competitors must write a 300-400 word essay on a theme. Both due November.
