This year's theme is Black Resistance. The theme is created each year by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, an organization created by Carter G. Woodson to preserve the legacy of Black History Month. We honor the triumphs, struggles, movements, cultures, creativity, legacies and possibilities of African-Americans & global diaspora of African descent past and present.
