Attendance Policy Reminder
Parents and Students, keep in mind that merely sending a parent-signed note ackowledging an absence does not mean that the absence will be excused.
There are only 7 acceptable reasons for excused absences according to the Rockdale County Public School System:

Personal Illness,

Illness or death in the immediate family,

Celebrating a Religious Holiday,

Absences mandated by other governmental agencies,

Conditions that render attendance impossible or hazardous to health or safety,

Registering to Vote or Voting for a period not to exceed 1 day,

Absences for a student whose parent is in the United States Military and such parent has been called to duty for, or is on leave from, overseas deployment to a combat zone.
Students with documented excused absences shall be granted absences up to a maximum of 5 school days per school year.
