The Student Council plays a very important role at Lorraine Elementary. Student Council helps to engage
students in learning about democracy and leadership. It affords students the opportunity to share their
ideas, interests, and concerns with the teachers and the principal while representing the Lorraine student
body.
Student Council helps raise funds for school-wide activities, such as community support and school social
events. Some of their altruistic projects and activities include: Red Ribbon Week, Pennies for Patients,
The Can Food Drive, Clothing Drive, Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen, Candy Grahams, The School Store, Lorraine
School Dance,
Being on Student Council is something that will help our students become responsible and active
members of the community.
