Dr. Willaford is a native Atlantan and a product of the DeKalb County School System. A graduate of Avondale High School (Class of 1992), Dr. Willaford attended Clark Atlanta University and majored in Middle Grades Education. Upon receiving his Bachelor’s of Arts degree, with a concentration in Mathematics and Language Arts, Dr. Willaford began his professional career in the DeKalb County School System at Stephenson Middle School. Dr. Willaford served the Stephenson community for seven years as a middle school math teacher (grades 6, 7, and 8) and high school football and track coach. After receiving much success in the classroom and in athletics, Dr. Willaford left the Stephenson community in 2003 to become a teacher and coach at Rockdale County High School. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Willaford was reassigned to Conyers Middle School as an 8th grade Science teacher before being promoted to the position of Assistant Principal at Conyers Middle School. As the Assistant Principal at Conyers Middle School, Dr. Willaford also served Rockdale County Public Schools as the Middle School Summer School Director for two consecutive years. As the leader of our school, Dr. Willaford has instituted a vision of excellence that is shared amongst all school stakeholders. |
