Peer Mediators trains students in the skills of conflict resolution so they can help other students solve problems. Membership is open to one boy and one girl per homeroom in grades 3-5. Interested students must complete an application from to participate as a Peer Mediator. The club meets one time at the beginning of the year for training and throughout the year during the school day for mediation sessions. Club activities include attending the training session on conflict resolution, friendship, empathy, problem solving, communication skills, and peer mediation.
o Academic Recognition Ceremonies (Quarterly) programs are held quarterly to recognize student achievement and parental involvement.
o Flying Falcons Tutorial Program is an after school student tutorial program used to help students with deficiencies in reading, writing, and math.
o Art Club engages students in creative self-expression through art. Membership is open to 4th and 5th grade students. Club activities include keeping a sketchbook, creating set designs for plays, painting, sculpture, and fiber arts.
o Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is a quiz bowl team, made up of fourth and fifth graders, competes yearly against teams from other elementaries to determine which team best know the contents of the Georgia Book Award nominee for the year. Top teams go on to compete at Regional and State levels.
o Media/Technology Festival provides an opportunity for students to show their technology created projects and have their worked judged at various levels which can include the school, county, state, and international level.
o International Ambassadors is sponsored by Oprah’s Angel Network and Free the Children. This club meets once a month. Students will engage in activities to help them learn about children and families living in developing countries. Students will discover that they can make a difference in their own lives and someone else’s.
o Running Club promotes physical fitness. Membership is open to all students. The club meets three times per week during the fall and spring. Club activities include running or walking the track before school.
o Safety Patrol develops leadership skills for our students. Membership is open to 4th and 5th graders. Club activities include monitoring hallway and cafeteria conduct and outside car safety under strict adult supervision.
o SMART Club/Robotics Team (Science & Math Achievers Reaching Their Highest Aspirations) enhances student achievement through a science and math based club that focuses on GPS aligned activities. The SMART Club will be tailored to students in grades 2nd through 5th. The SMART Club intends to prepare students to compete in school, district, and state level competitions such as Science Olympiad, Math-a-thon, .
o Technology Fair and Showcase allows students to “showcase” technology based projects while sharing technology skills and knowledge with parents and other stakeholders.
o Young Ladies of Distinction is a mentoring program for girls in the 4th and 5th grade. The club meets bi-weekly after school. Club activities include field trips, community service projects, and discussions regarding conflict resolution, personal hygiene, academic achievement, and etiquette.
o DUDES (Dynamic Upright Dedicated Esteemed Students) mentors  boys in 4th and 5th grade. The club meets every third Thursday of the month from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Club activities include field trips, life skills and decision-making skills training, mentoring discussions, and journal writing.
M.O.R.E. After School Program  is an affter school program that provides quality child care for students before and after school. This tuition-based program offers a variety of curriculum-based and enrichment activities such as homework help, dance, cooking, physical education, arts and crafts, computer time, etc. .
Accelerated Reader provides daily progress monitoring software created by Renaissance Learning for monitoring the practice of reading. Using this school-wide program, students are encouraged to read, take “AR” tests, and to meet their quarterly goals.
o Fabulous Falcon of the Month recognizes the student of the month for displaying appropriate behavior and citizenship and IB Learner Profiles.
o Mentoring involves all staff with students across grade levels, serving as mentors through the counseling department.
o CHAMPS (Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety)  involves a  partnership with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s department. CHAMPS is a 12-week program, hour long program for 5th grade students designed to encourage students to resist engagement into self destructive behaviors. Subject matter includes: drugs, alcohol, and tobacco prevention, swimming safety, gun safety, gangs, violence, and peer pressure.
o 4-H provides an opportunity for enrichment to the curriculum in the areas of language arts and science. The 4-H curriculum is aligned with the language arts and science GPS standards. Membership is open to all 5th grade students and meets once a month. Club activities include learning to give an oral presentation, exploring different science topics, and contributing to the community through community service projects.
o Student Council  teaches students about the democratic method for making decisions that involve the entire school. Students who serve on the Student Council make decisions about school projects and listen to the ideas of classmates, while remaining fair and respectful to all students. Membership is open to one representative and one alternate per homeroom as well as four 5th grade officer positions. Students must be elected to these positions by their classmates. The club meets once a month. Club activities include contributing ideas to school-wide spirit days and various service projects.
o Chorus  is open to 4th and 5th graders who are interested in singing.  The club meets once a week. Club activities include performances within the school as well as performances outside the school at various community functions.
