Seeking Parent Advisory Council Members!
The Rockdale County Public Schools Parent Advisory Council (PAC) consists of one or two parent representatives from each school in Rockdale County. RCPS understands that parent involvement and cooperative partnerships can only enhance the education of children. The PAC provides a vehicle for formal parent voice and representation. RCPS Achieves Adequate Yearly Progress for Fifth Consecutive Year!
The Rockdale County public school system has met the state and federal requirements for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the fifth consecutive year! Furthermore, 100% of the schools within the district achieved AYP. Congratulations students, teachers, administrators, parents and staff!
Rockdale County and Salem High Schools Named AP Honor Schools
Rockdale County and Salem high schools have been named 2010 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools by Georgia State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox. “We are proud of Rockdale and Salem high schools for this accomplishment,” said Dr. Samuel King, superintendent of Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS). “I commend the students, parents, teachers and administrators for all of their hard work. We continue to strengthen our Advanced Placement program by increasing our offerings and the number of students participating throughout the district. We have seen a 30 percent increase in the number of students taking AP courses in the past two years and have 1,527 students currently enrolled in AP courses."
